I LOVE The Office...

Annie L.
Morgan Hill, CA

I started watching The Office during Season 2.

I own all 3 seasons on DVD, calendar, pens, pencils, coffee mugs, pads of paper, Dwight bobblehead & too many other things to name not to mention DVD's of the different actors movies they've appeared in.

My favorite characters are:

After I check ScantonBranchOffice.com I go check out Nette's Layouts on MySpace, Office Tally, The Office on NBC, and Give Me My Remote.

My favorite All Time Moments are:
- Dwight's shunning of Andy in "Safety Training"
- Jim not being allowed to talk because Pam jinxed him in "Drug Testing"
- The kiss in "Casino Night"

I've had my questions answered by Karly Rothenberg (Madge) and Kent Zbornak on Theofficechat.com. I've also received MySpace messages from Richard Gonzales who used to work on the show.

My three favorite episodes are:
- The Secret
- Safety Training
- Conflict Resolution

"What I like most about the show, is even when an episode is not at its best, there is always a memorable line or moment that solidifies why the show is just that damn good. Every actor on the show has tremendous chemistry with each other. Though I root for Jim & Pam, there are so many other great couples including Jim & Dwight, Michael & Ryan, Michael & Toby, Michael & Dwight and Dwight & Angela. Everyone plays so well off each other that even when the actors don't have speaking lines, their facial expressions are worth a thousand words! I pop in an Office DVD at least once or twice a week. The show is a great "pick me upper" after having a bad day. No matter how dorky Dwight is, how bitchy Angela can be, or what a jerk Michael is, at the end of the day, I would still love to work at that office and I credit that to the brilliance of everyone on the show. The Office truly is an ensemble show and one of the very best ever on television."

Now it's your turn! Tell us why you LOVE The Office! Click HERE for details.

Entertainment Weekly's Best TV Sound Bites of 2007

You KNOW "The Office" would make this list, now didn't you? VERY few shows that aren't talk shows (Letterman, Leno, Daily Show, etc.) even made this list, but our little comedy that could did! But just how many times? Well, since you asked....

JANUARY
''Five of us transferred from Stamford. There's two of us left — me and Karen. It's like we're touring Willy Wonka's chocolate factory and dropping off one by one. Well, guess what? I'm not falling in a chocolate river.''
ANDY (ED HELMS), ON THE OFFICE

FEBRUARY
''I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once, but by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog.''
DWIGHT (RAINN WILSON), WHO THINKS JIM (JOHN KRASINSKI) IS TURNING INTO A VAMPIRE, ON THE OFFICE

APRIL
''I don't think that this is totally just a woman's suit. At the very least, it's bisexual.''
MICHAEL (STEVE CARELL), AFTER BEING ACCUSED OF WEARING WOMEN'S CLOTHES TO WORK, ON THE OFFICE

''If someone gives you 10,000-to-one [odds] on anything, you take it. If John Mellencamp ever wins an Oscar, I am going to be a very rich dude.''
KEVIN (BRIAN BAUMGARTNER), ON THE OFFICE

MAY
''Sometimes the clothes at Gap Kids are just too flashy. So I'm forced to go to the American Girl store and order clothes for large colonial dolls.''
THE PETITE-SIZE ANGELA (ANGELA KINSEY), DISCUSSING HER SHOPPING HABITS, ON THE OFFICE

''Once I am officially regional manager, my first order of business will be to demote Jim Halpert. So I will need a new number two. My ideal choice? Jack Bauer. But he is unavailable. Fictional. And overqualified.''
DWIGHT (RAINN WILSON), ON THE OFFICE

OCTOBER
''They say you should never mix business with pleasure. Really? Well, then explain to me how a putt-putt golf company operates.''
ANDY (ED HELMS), ON THE OFFICE

NOVEMBER
''You can not take the hilarious black guy from the office. Stanley is part of what makes this branch so extraordinary — the bluesy wisdom, the sassy remarks, the crossword puzzles, the smile, those big watery red eyes. I don't know how George Bush did it when Colin Powell left.''
MICHAEL (STEVE CARELL), AFTER LEARNING THAT STANLEY (LESLIE DAVID BAKER) MIGHT BE CHANGING BRANCHES, ON THE OFFICE

Even More Best of 2007 Lists!

The MercuryNews in San Jose, California has a fun list of 2007 Superlatives. "The Office" made the list (as a runner up)!

"FAVORITE COUPLE: Ned (Lee Pace) and Chuck (Anna Friel), the adorable, look-but-don't-touch lovebirds on "Pushing Daisies." RUNNER-UP: Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) on "The Office." "

The whole list is HERE.

Also...

And...

BuddyTV has "The Office" on a few lists:
BEST FINALE
#2 - "Why was this finale of The Office better than the previous season? After all, it’s hard to top the first time Pam and Jim kissed at Casino Night. However, on the season 3 finale, Jim decides to bail on Karen and asks Pam out on an official date. It left fans over the moon – after all, The Office wouldn’t pull them apart twice on us, would they?"

SEXIEST MEN ON TV
#2 - "He may not be Wentworth Miller or Taye Diggs but John Krasinski brings a different kind of hotness, one that makes him number one in my book."

See all of BuddyTV's best of 2007 HERE.

The Office is One of E!'s Best of 2007

E!'s Watch With Kristin has placed "The Office" at number 4 of her best TV of 2007.

#4 - "The Office is like sex and pizza. Even when it's bad it's still thoroughly satisfying in every way."

Jenna Fischer's Friends Support Her

Jenna Fischer had the "Walk Hard" premiere in Hollywood and a lot of her Office friends showed up to show their support.

"The Office" Had the 2nd Saddest Death on TV in 2007

BuddyTV has listed the 7 saddest TV deaths of 2007 and among characters from Ugly Betty, The Sopranos and more, who came in at #2?

Sprinkles!

"We all knew that Sprinkles wasn't doing well. She needed insulin, an ace inhibitor, cream, and pills to keep her health in tact. The thing is – Sprinkles is a cat. A cat that became too sick for Dwight Schrute to tolerate. On the season 4 premiere of The Office, Dwight euthanized his girlfriend's cat, causing sadness to animal (and Dwangela) lovers everywhere."

Ed Helms Wants Us To Vote!

MySpace.com is all about the upcoming elections and to help the MySpace world get in touch with WHY we should vote, they asked two of the nation's best experts on politics. Ok, maybe not experts on politics, but they are funny! It's Ed Helms from "The Office" and that McLovin' kid from "Superbad". Enjoy!

Vote - It's the least you can do

Creed Bratton Hosts at Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum

The Office's former professional musician, Creed Bratton (watch him Jam out at the Scranton Office Convention), recently hosted the very first inductions at the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum.

"At the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum's inaugural induction ceremony, six groups of musicians — men and women who played on many of the most important and well-loved records in the history of American popular music — were honored with medallions and applause.

Motown group The Funk Brothers, Nashville's A Team, Los Angeles' The Wrecking Crew, Johnny Cash's Tennessee Two and Elvis Presley's Blue Moon Boys made up the first Musicians Hall class.

The show, for which Creed Bratton of TV's The Office served as host, drew frequent standing ovations."

Steve Carell on NPR's "Fresh Air"

National Public Radio's (NPR) great entertainment interview show, "Fresh Air", recently sat down with Steve Carell to talk about The Office and his film career.

"By the end of The 40 Year Old Virgin, the title character had lost his virginity — and actor Steve Carell had become a star."

This interview originally aired on Oct. 24, 2007.

Melora Hardin Loves Zac Efron!

The National Ledger has a great article about Melora Hardin and her future projects, including the movie "Seventeen" with "High School Musical"'s Zac Efron.

""The Office's" Melora Hardin might just be the busiest actress around in this post-holiday, strike-stricken town. She's been busy on several films, one of which is her directorial debut. She has her brand-new "At the Water Cooler" act debuting Jan. 4-6 at Hollywood's Catalina Jazz Club. And she's in the midst of making the big-screen "Seventeen," in which Matthew Perry's character finds himself suddenly back in his 17-year-old body -- Zac Efron's!"

Lee Eisenberg & Gene Stupnitsky's New Movie...

The L.A. Times has an article about the upcoming movie "Year One" that was written by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg.

"Penned by writer-producers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg ("The Office") with director Harold Ramis ("Vacation"), the script has great anachronistic fun with the idea of applying contemporary characterizations and language to a biblical context, and vice versa (i.e. "I want to lay with her so badly" and "What happens in Sodom, stays in Sodom")."

Why Are YOU An Office Fan?

"The Office" is known as the little show that could, thanks to its incredible fan base.

So, the question that makes sense to be asked is:

"WHY?"

Obviously, I'm a fan of the show, but I'm curious why everyone else is.

I'd like to start a series of fan profiles here on ScrantonBranchOffice.com to show the world how we all fell in love with the people at Dunder Mifflin. Periodically we'll post the profiles here so we can all share our OfficeLove.

Creed Thoughts - December 20th

Mister Internet, Creed Bratton, has blessed us with another blog this week on NBC.com.

"This is going to come as a shock to all of you, so find yourself a recliner and park your caboose in it because here we go: I love Christmas decorations. I do. Lights, mangers, inflatable Santas – you name it, I love it. They remind me of some really great trips I took back in the day."

Schute Space - "Spelling is a Cornerstone of Communication"

"Dwight" has posted a new Schrute Space blog post on NBC.com

"I was at a gas station this weekend and heard a little girl ask her mother a question. This question might as well have been “Why am I so dumb?” but in actuality, it was “Do reindeer fly better when it’s raining?” Obviously, the girl thought that reindeer was spelled “rain deer.” Children are stupid. What sense is there in naming an animal after a weather condition? There is no such thing as a hail bear. Nor is there a sleet squirrel. The only exception to this rule is the snow leopard, which is named more for its coloring than its preference for cold weather. I’m also aware of ThunderCats, but they don’t count because they’re alien creatures."

Melora Hardin to Perform Cabaret

No, not the musical Cabaret, but her own musical cabaret event!

"Bernadette Peters, Barbra Streisand and Bette Midler. Producer-director Richard Jay-Alexander has directed thrilling concerts for all three luminaries. He will now direct "The Office" star Melora Hardin in her new cabaret act At the Water Cooler, which will play the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood, CA, Jan. 4 and 5 at 9 PM and Jan. 6 at 7:30 PM."

You can read more of it on Playbill.com which has the news.

David Denman Does Drama

The Hollywood Reporter has an article about a new Drama series that is being proposed for FOX.

It will be directed by Zack Braff of "Scrubs" and would star David Denman - Roy from "The Office"!

"The project, from ABC Studios, centers on Wayne (Denman), a man going through a midlife crisis who quits his dead-end office job to be a paramedic on the night shift."

You can read all about it HERE.

Jenna Fischer on Pop Candy's Top 100

One of my favorite websites, USA Today's Pop Candy, has listed their top 100 people of 2007.

Who comes in at #12? Jenna Fischer!

"Pam Beesly may not take as many trips to Hooters or paper conventions as the rest of the Dunder Mifflin gang, but The Office couldn't survive without her."

You can see the list HERE.

Rainn Wilson to Host Film Independent's Spirit Awards

Jenna Fischer Blogs - " My Hard Walkin’ Blog - With Photos!"

Jenna Fischer dropped some "Walk Hard" love on all of us with all about the movie and the premiere, including photos.

She did include a little "Office" for us too, although it's not too promising.

"In Office news, the strike is getting really scary. Talks have broken down and they aren't planning to resume until after the New Year. It looks like this is going to last longer than we thought. There is a chance we will be shut down for the entire rest of our season. Jim and Pam finally get together and I don't get to find out what happens! ARGH!"

"The Office" Makes Yahoo List of Most Recorded Shows

Yahoo has a list of the top 10 shows captured on people's DVRs.

"The Emmy-winning comedy "The Office" checks in at the No. 7 spot on the DVR list, and is NBC’s second show in the Top 10. In Season 4, Jim and Pam officially became a couple (yay!), while Dwight and Angela, sadly, have split up. (Never mercy-kill a woman’s cat, Mr. Schrute!)"

OLD Office Interviews

I just found this video, and even if you've seen it on 100 other sites, I HAD to have it on here.

Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski and B.J. Novak are on a blog called ClipsQuips and wow - so funny.

I'm guessing this is John's haircut from Jarhead?

Jenna Fischer on Today Show

This morning Jenna Fischer was up bright and early to appear on NBC's "Today Show" out in the NYC cold.

"We're in kind of a holding pattern. We don't have any scripts. We've filmed everything we had. Everything we had aired. It's unfortunate because Jim and Pam finally got together and now I don't know what's going to happen."

You can watch the video by clicking HERE or HERE.

Ed Helms is in "Walk Hard" Too!

We all know Jenna Fischer is in "Walk Hard".

Did you know other Office alums like Ed Helms, Craig Robinson, Tim Meadows (The Client), Harold Ramis (directed episodes) and Paul Feig (directed episodes) are in it too?

Here's a capture of Ed Helms from the trailer even though you don't find his name on the cast list on IMDb. Go figure.

Craig Robinson in "Backlash" Video

Judd Apatow got some of his friends together to do a very funny little video promoting "Walk Hard".

The video opens with Apatow regulars Paul Rudd, Justin Long, Jonah Hill and our friend Craig Robinson playing a little Guitar Hero: Rock Band. As if that's not cool enough, the skit then explodes into Craig losing his mind and chasing after Apatow.

Be warned that the video contains a LOT of uncomfortable and adult language. So, keep your speakers low at work or around the kids. But it's hilarious!

Click HERE to watch the video.

Pam Makes EW's List of Best 2007 TV

The writers of Entertainment Weekly have made their list of best moments on TV for 2007.

Do you agree with their choices? Did you love the Sopranos going to black? The Lost Fast FORWARD? Pam saying how she felt on The Office's beach day? Starbucks' death on Battlestar Galactica?

What's missing? Any thoughts on what they over looked?

Check out the list HERE.

Jenna Makes Sending Cards a Project!

People.com has an interesting little bit about what Jenna Fischer goes through with each of the Christmas Cards that she send out.

""There is the card," she says, "which I bought at Target, and a special insert-card, which has a little personal message to everybody. It has a special ribbon that I have to tie on. Then, there's the return address label that's Christmas-y and the Christmas stamp."

Fischer adds, "I have to write in green and red ink. It's crazy town – crazy town. Martha Stewart would be proud.""

You can read more about it HERE.
