Special Screening and Q&A of 'Away We Go'

On May 8th, Back Stage and Focus Features are sponsoring a special Los Angeles screening of John Krasinski's new film Away We Go.

After the screening, a special question and answer session will feature John, along with the film's director Sam Mendes (American Beauty) and co-star Maya Rudolph (Saturday Night Live).

The screening will take place on Friday, May 8, 2009 at the Linwood Dunn Theater (1313 Vine St., Hollywood, CA). The screening begins promptly at 7 p.m. To RSVP, please call 818-777-3534... seating is first come, first served.

BBC’s The Office Goes For An Adult Swim

Adult Swim today announced it has acquired the legendary hit BBC comedy, The Office, from BBC Worldwide.

Both seasons of the two-time Golden Globe Award-winning series will begin airing on Adult Swim this summer. Adult Swim will also air The Office Christmas special.

Today’s announcement to add The Office comes on the heels of the addition of the BBC hit The Mighty Boosh, a deal also done with BBC Worldwide, which had its Adult Swim debut March 29.

Adult Swim airs nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (ET, PT).

John K on the Big Screen!

John Krasinski has signed on for a new romantic comedy due out around Christmas 2009!

The film, yet to be named, also stars Meryl Streep, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.

Carousel Television gets Serious

Universal Media Studios has signed a three-year first look development deal with Carousel Television, the broadcast and new technologies arm of Steve Carell's recently formed Carousel Productions.

Heading up the division for Carell will be Thom Hinkle (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart) and Campbell Smith.

"I could not be more excited to be entering into this partnership with NBC/Universal," said Carell. "Thom and Campbell are smart, funny and creative. And they also smell great."

Steve Carell will voice Groo, the title character of Despicable Me, a 3-D CG-animated film about a man who plots to steal the moon.

DVD Mini-Scandal

The website TV Shows on DVD has reported that season 4 of The Office will go on sale Tuesday, September 2 and will retail at $49.99. Does this seem too much? A poster at Office Tally thinks so... I mean, really, the season was stunted by the strike and all the outtakes are available on NBC.com. What are your thoughts on the subject?

Baby Kinsey is Here!

The Office family just got bigger: According to a blog posted this morning by Kate Flannery (Meridith), Angela Kinsey has finally become a mommy. The baby's name is Isabel and both mother and daughter are doing great. Congratulations to the family!

Now maybe we can find out if Schrutes do, indeed, produce thirsty babies.

Update: People.com is reporting the birth.
"Weighing 6 lbs., 14 oz., Isabel Ruby Lieberstein was born at 12:50 p.m. Saturday. Among those at the hospital were Kinsey's mother, Bertie Kinsey, and the actress's friend and castmate Jenna Fischer, according to Kinsey's rep, Tess Finkle."
