ScrantonBranchOffice Exclusive Interview - Jackie Debatin

Recently we were able to chat with Jackie Debatin who Office fans know and love as "Elizabeth the Stripper" from the "Ben Franklin" and "Fun Run" episodes of "The Office".

To help us celebrate tonight's Office season four finale, Jackie has agreed to share a little about herself, her character and what's coming up next.

Enjoy!

ScrantonBranchOffice: Could you tell our readers about yourself and how you started in "show biz"?
Jackie Debatin: I'm orginally from Southern Illinois, and moved out to LA in 1992...I knew one casting director, that a professor of mine introduced me to...Looking back now, I'd say it was a crazy move....I had studied theater in college and knew I wanted to be an actress...It took a long time to get things going honestly....I just got little bit parts here and there, and keep it going...I also run my own Accounting company here in LA, so that keeps the money rolling in when acting is slow...which was of course so funny when they had Dwight ask me to answer phones in the "accounting" dept in THE OFFICE...

SBO: You've been on shows such as Nip/Tuck, Life, The Unit and more, what path led you to playing the role of "Elizabeth the Stripper" in the "Ben Franklin" and "Fun Run" episodes of "The Office"?
JD: I have played alot of TV strippers/hookers....why? I really don't know! Maybe it's my wraspy voice? Please someone tell me! But, I was a stripper/hooker on FRIENDS, a stripper on THAT 70's SHOW, a stripper on TWO AND A HALF MEN, a "madam" on VERONICA MARS, a "call girl" on BOSTON LEGAL, and of course a stripper on THE OFFICE..

SBO: What was the experience like working on a hit show like "The Office" and getting to be in big ensemble scenes in both episodes?
JD: I can honestly say working on THE OFFICE was probably the best experience I have had in TV work....the entire cast is so down to earth, fun, grateful to be there...there are NO big egos on the set....everyone is just there to make a great show, and support each other in doing good work....the entire cast, crew, writers, and producers are so great to their guest cast... they really make you feel part of the team which is so nice....hopefully I will get to go back! HINT: please write to them and suggest that! HAHA

SBO: What was your reaction being called back to resurrect Elizabeth for the season opener of Season 4?
JD: I was shocked for sure! I have had reccurings on other shows, but usually when you audition for a part you know if it will reccur....so this was a pleasant surprise...and my agent told me it was Greg Daniels (the creator's) idea to bring me back...so that was a huge compliant to me!

SBO: What can we look forward to seeing you in soon?
JD: I just worked on a pilot for Spike TV called "SIS"....and yes I do play another TV stripper!

Major thanks to Jackie for spending some time with us as we continue to flesh our the Dunderworld! Be sure to look for Jackie in "SIS" on SpikeTV.

    Enjoy tonight's finale!
