A phone salesman comes by to see Michael, but Pam doesn’t want them to get a new system that will basically replace her. She tells him that Michael isn’t in and when the salesman wants to make an appt, Jim cuts in and pretends to be Michael. Michael happens to walk up at this time. Jim calls Michael "Jimbo" and to get Michael to play along Jim and Pam give him meaningful looks. Surprisingly, Michael plays along and there is a lot of Fonzie Ayyy-ing going on. Salesman kinda gets freaked and leaves. Best cold opening I’ve seen this season.

It’s Valentine’s Day. Everyone except Jim and Pam and Phyllis seem bummed. Kelly gets a Valentine that reminds her to make a dental appointment. Michael is feeling very lonely on V day. He even goes so far to move Pam’s flowers off her desk onto the floor. Michael wants to protect everyone from Valentine’s Day because he’s the one who doesn’t to deal with it. His solution? A Lonely Hearts party.

There’s a blood drive. Dwight reveals that he can retract his veins and his penis. Thanks Dwight. Michael talks to a cute girl in the blood drive van. She tells him he’s cute. Then Michael passes out. Way to impress the girl, Slick. She left her glove but the blood van nurse won’t give out the girl’s name so Michael can return the glove.

The Lonely Hearts party is a drag.

Pam and Jim go to lunch with Bob Vance and Phyllis. Jim and Pam do that jokey bickering thing that looks like it could go south. Then Bob and Phyllis go to the bathroom for forever. Jim and Pam go investigate and hear them doing, uh, something in the bathroom.

Angela admits that she’s had two separate groups of guys fight and duel over her. Interesting information. We also learn that Andy is on one of his honeymoons. Apparently he put down so many non-refundable deposits, he has to go on them all by himself. That’s pathetic.

Michael has the brilliant idea to host a singles mixer in the office. He happens to include a lost glove notice at the bottom of the flier. Sneaky! Kevin starts hitting it off with a cute redhead but he blows it by talking about breaking up with Stacy. Then he comes back and starts to score and gets the girl’s email address. Good for you, Kevin!

All the DM people wait around to see if Michael’s blood girl will show up, but she doesn’t show. Sad. I hope he runs into her eventually.

That was a long dry spell of repeats, huh? Will Michael find the girl? Is that even that girl's glove? Leave a comment!

  2. I'm thinking that Andy and Oscar may be an item, and Oscar was talking about Andy in the confessional....food for thought.
