  1. David Wallace asks Michael to do some field work usually given to supervisors. He’s going to spy on Prince Paper with Dwight. This is not going to end well.

The rest of the office debates whether or not Hilary Swank is hot. They group vote is tied.

Michael goes in to Prince Paper under his alias Michael Scarn, attorney at law. He’s greeted very warmly by the Prince people. They seem like very nice people. Michael asks them about the business and starts giving himself away with his paper knowledge. Dwight busts in demanding a job. They end up with a client contact sheet and start to peel out but Michael’s car breaks down. The Prince people fix his car and give them coffee and are just gosh darn nice. Michael is starts to feel guilty.

Jim tries to break the tie by convincing the naysayers why Swank is hot. Angela breaks the tie by calling Swank the female Morris Becker. Toby declares her not hot, and Kelly breaks down in tears because if he says Swank isn’t hot then he’s saying she’s not hot because she’s obviously not as hot as Swank. Say wha? So we’re back to a tie.

They break down the symmetry of Swank’s face and continue to argue until Michael and Dwight return. Stanley gives a moving speech about Hilary Swank’s hotness but they’re still tied. Michael finally ends it by casually commenting “Oh, who’s that? Hilary Swank? She’s hot.”

Michael doesn’t want to give any information on the Prince family to David Wallace. Dwight tries to convince Michael to give up the information using a LOTR reference. Because he’s Dwight. Michael takes off with the contact sheet and Dwight gives chase. They run around the building three or four times until Dwight heads Michael off and takes the sheet back and turns it over to David Wallace. Michael looks incredibly sad.

To be quite honest, I didn’t think this episode was very good. There were a few chuckles but in my opinion it was predictable and poorly written. It kind of felt like someone was phoning it in. Where were the good lines? The best line of the episode came from Kevin about thinking a painting was beautiful but not wanting to “do” it. What did you think? Am I completely offbase here?
